The Miyabi is an excellent option for a futon and also provides customizable comfort and all the benefits of Airfiber® sleep technology.
Unlike the American futon, which is a sofa bed, the Airweave Japanese Futon utilizes our innovative Airfiber® core technology that promotes airflow and breathability. This creates a cooler, more supportive sleep surface.
The Futon can be placed on the floor or placed on top of a mattress and used as a topper.
Providing superior support, the Airweave Japanese Futon ranks a 10 on the industry firmness scale for those who prefer an extra-firm feel.
Material:
Airfiber® is our proprietary material made of interwoven high-density polyethylene fibers. It's essentially strong and breathable while memory foam is a type of viscoelastic polyurethane foam that conforms to your body shape when pressure is applied.
Feel:
Airfiber® offers a firm feel with high breathability due to the spaces between the fibers while memory foam offers a pressure-relieving, contouring feel that can sometimes feel hot due to its ability to trap heat.
Support:
Airfiber® is designed for proper spinal alignment and pressure relief, particularly for back, stomach, and combination sleepers. Memory foam can offer good pressure relief but may not provide optimal support for everyone, especially side sleepers.
Temperature Regulation:
Airfiber® is generally considered cooler due to its breathability. Memory foam can trap heat, making it less ideal for hot sleepers.
Movement:
Airfiber® allows for easier movement and undisturbed sleep due to its high rebound nature. Memory foam can have a sink-in feeling that might make it harder to move around.
Washability:
Airweave mattresses completely washable, while memory foam mattresses are not.
